Dr. David C. Tudor Science Scholarship
Dr. David C. Tudor, a member of the Cranbury Lions from 1985 until his death in 2000, was a practicing veterinarian, as well as a Professor at Rutgers University, and one of the nation's foremost authorities on pigeons. "Doc" Tudor was a member of the Cranbury Lions Board of Directors, and served a term as Vice President. He became a Melvin Jones Fellow in 1993, and was selected as Cranbury's Lion of the Year in 1986. A scholarship, administered by the Cranbury Lions, has been established in his name. This scholarship is given annually to a Cranbury student pursuing a major in Science at an accredited college.
Eligibility
- Candidates must reside in Cranbury.
- The scholarship is based on academic merit in Science.
- Candidates must be a high school senior accepted into an accredited college, with a
major in Science AND/OR to college students already with a major in Science.
Preference will be given to candidates with an Agriculture or Life Science major.
Application
- The application will include where the scholarship will be used.
- A one page essay detailing why the candidate should be considered is part of the application.
- Two recommendation letters from teachers or other school staff are required, with one from a Science teacher.

The Scholarship Award
- A final candidate shall be chosen and agreed upon by the Scholarship and Award Selection Committee. This final candidate shall be presented to the Cranbury Lions Board of Directors no later than the May Board of Directors Meeting (the Tuesday before the first Wednesday in May), for final approval.
- The recipient shall receive the amount of $1000.
- The Honoree, and his or her Parents, will be invited to attend the Regular meeting held the First Wednesday in June, where the Club President will present the scholarship.
The first Dr. David C. Tudor Science Scholarship was presented in 2003.

* Emma Brunskill was the most qualified for this award and was chosen before her tragic death; the scholarship proceeds were awarded in her name to The Seeing Eye for the training of a single Seeing Eye Dog, who was named "Emma".
